湛江市对虾苗种协会成立于2006年，以湛江市13家省级对虾良种场为核心，会同行业中影响力强、上规模的对虾种苗生产企业组成，有会员100多家，分布于东海岛、遂溪、雷州、徐闻等地，为非营利性的民间社团组织。
Zhangjiang Shrimp Seed Association (ZJSSA) was formed in 2006. ZJSSA is anon-profit private organization including 100 corporate members all over Zhanjiang City（Donghaidao、Suixi、Leizhou、Xuwen etc.）, in which 13 provincial prawn & shrimp seed (fry & larva & fingerling) multiplication farms are core members, together with prestige leading larval prawn & shrimp rearing enterprises.
协会宗旨为团结区域内水产种苗行业从业人员、企业、海洋渔业科研机构等单位，构建水产种业技术交流平台，从事对虾良种选育技术研究，推进水产良种体系建设，维护会员及行业的合法权益，促进本市对虾产业健康发展。
The objectives of ZJSSA are to coordinate with larval prawn & shrimp industrial participants, enterprises and relevant state authorities such as marine fishery research institute; to build up aquatic seed technology exchange platform; to specialize in the technology study of larval rearing selection; to establish improved variety system; to protect industry and members legal interests; to promote sound development of Zhanjiang prawn & shrimp industry.
协会业务范围：
ZJSSA‘s Missions are to:
一、提供服务。积极组织市场开拓，发布市场信息，开展行业培训、交流、咨询、展览展销等活动；开展行业调查等活动。
1. Provide services: Actively supporting members to broaden the markets; providing updated market information and training courses to members; organizing mutual exchange, consultation, and exhibitions for members; and making industry related investigations.
二、反映诉求。组织企业积极应对国内外贸易纠纷，积极与政府有关部门沟通协调，反映会员的利益诉求。
2. Reflect appeals: Organizing members to cope with the domestic and foreign trade disputes; coordinating relevant state authorities with partners; representing members to reflect their legal appeals to government and state sensors.
三、规范行为。制定行规行约，规范行业和会员的生产经营行为，实施规范化运作；协助政府制定、修改行业标准，加强会员和行业自律；维护市场公平竞争和社会公共利益；配合政府监督管理，打击销售伪劣产品的违法行为。
3. Regularize behaviors: Formulating industrial regulations; standardizing the production and operation of the industry and members; implementation of standardized operation; assisting the government to draft or modify industry criteria; strengthening the member and industry self-discipline; protecting fair market competition and social public interests; cooperating with the government to supervise, manage and combat the illegal behavior of selling counterfeit products.
四、受理政府有关部门委托依法办理的职能。
4. Be entrusted by relevant departments of government to legally deal with industry issues.
会员按照广东省质量技术监督局发布的广东省地方标准《斑节对虾养殖技术规范》和《凡纳对虾养殖技术规范》规定的操作规范进行虾苗生产，从国外引进高品质南美白对虾种虾，年产优质的南美白对虾一代苗1500亿尾，虾苗除供应本地外，还销往珠三角、广西、福建、海南、江苏、浙江、上海等地区以及越南等国家。
The larval prawn & shrimp production of Members are in accordance with the technology regulations of penaeus monodon and Litopenaeus Vannamei Multiplicationbased onGuangdonglocal standards issued by Administration of Quality and Technology Supervision of Guangdong Province. ZJSSA introduces superior whiteleg prawn & shrimp (Penaeus vannamei ) seed from overseas which annual fingerlings output comes up to 150 billion and they are supplied not only to local market but also other areas of China such as Pearl River Delta, Guangxi, Fujian, Hainan, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai and foreign countries such as Vietnam.
协会长期与广东海洋大学、中国科学院南海海洋研究所、中国水产科学研究院黄海水产研究所、湛江市水产技术推广中心站等单位合作开展科研工作，并与美国对虾改良系统有限公司、美国科拿湾海洋资源有限公司、泰国百万欣水产有限公司等国外种虾公司保持密切联系。
ZJSSA have long-term scientific cooperation with Guangdong Ocean University, South China Sea Institute of Oceanology Chinese Academy of Sciences, Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, Zhanjiang Fishery Technology Promotion Center and keep in close touch with foreign larval prawn & shrimp companies such as America Shrimp Improvement System, America Kona Bay Marine Resource and Thailand Charoen Aquatic Company.
协会组织了“湛江市十佳对虾种苗场”评选活动，编制《对虾种苗繁育场标准（湛江市）》，并经湛江市质量技术监督局审核通过。同时，在邀请国内外专家学者举办学术研讨会、稳定进口亲虾价格、组织业内精英及行业机构举办联谊会、策划参观考察活动、推进水产种苗场规范化标准化建设、提高虾苗质量、打造湛江虾苗品牌等方面做了大量工作，注重对虾良种选育，会员单位培育出凡纳滨对虾 “中科1号”、凡纳滨对虾“中兴1号”，并经全国水产原种和良种审定委员会审定通过，都被认定为水产新品种。协会获南方报业传媒集团2013年中国水产业风云榜年度行业组织与服务单位称号。
ZJSSA have launched an campaign named the Top 10 Larval Prawn & Shrimp Rearing Farms of Zhanjiang City and drafted the larval Prawn & Shrimp Multiplication Criteria of Zhanjiang City which have been approved by Administration of Quality and Technology Supervision of Zhanjiang City. ZJSSA have been performing a variety of activities, for example, to invite experts and scholars inChinaand abroad to attend Academy Seminars, to coordinate with partners and industrial elites to organize industry seminars, forums, conferences so as to contribute to the development of the industry, to plan visiting activities and investigations. ZJSSA have been working on stabilizing the imported broodstock prawn & shrimp price, promoting the establishment of standardization of marine fry breeding farms, improving prawn & shrimp seed rearing quality, and building the brand of Zhanjiang prawn & shrimp seed. ZJSSA also focus on fine breed selection and have achieved great results that our members developed two new species Litopenaeus Vannamei "Zhongke One" and "Zhongxin One" which have been approved by National Fisheries Species and Variety Approval Committee.ZJSSA was awarded the Title of Industry Organization and Service Unit in 2013 China Aquaculture Prominent held by Southern Newspaper Media Group.
协会会长叶富良是广东海洋大学教授、享受国务院特殊津贴专家、全国优秀水产科技工作者，兼任农业部全国水产原良种审定委员会委员，湛江市政府科技专家咨询委员会委员、海洋科学组副组长。
The president of Zhanjiang Shrimp Seed Association is Liangfu Ye, the professor of Guangdong Ocean University, the expert enjoying the special allowance of the state council, worker of national excellent aquatic science and technology, Adjunct member ofNational Fisheries Species and Variety Approval Committee of the Agriculture Ministry and Zhanjiang Government Expert Advisory Committee of Science and Technology, alsodeputy director of Marine Science Group.
